Personal InformationHuanwen Chen is professor of the School of Automation. He received a PhD from the Shanghai Jiaotong University. His scientific goal is to make machines that think like people. In the field of neuromorphic engineering, he mainly focuses on the production of dendritic neurons, the discovery of silicon neurons with single devices, as well as the development of model-based neurons and synaptic circuits. In computational neuroscience, he focuses on the extraction of key intelligence features of dendritic neurons and their role on cognitive behavior such as learning and memory. In the aspect of reinforcement learning, he mainly solves the learning and optimization problem of agents in the partially observable Markov dynamic random environment. He currently teaches courses for Analog Electronics Technology, Matlab Advanced Programming and Engineering Application, as well as Fundamentals of Semiconductor Devices. He is the recipient of the second prize of Hunan Teaching Achievement in 2013.
