Zhigang Chen, Professor & Dean of School of Software Central South University, has been awarded special subsidies from the Government. Theory of computer science committee deputy director of Computer Federation; Vice chairman and director of academic Committee of Computer Federation in Hu Nan province; Vice director of communication Federation in Hu Nan province.Zhigang Chen received the BS degree, the MS degree and the PhD degree in Computer Science from School of Information Science and Engineering, Central South University, Changsha, China, in 1984, 1987 and 1998, respectively. From 1997.1 to 1998.1, he was a visiting PhD student with Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan. From 1998.6 to1999.8, he worked in NTT Data as an employee of JCS, Tokyo, Japan.
His current research interests include computer network and distributed systems. He lectures on Compiler Theory, Software Development Technology, Distributed Systems, Computer Project and Artificial Intelligence Principles. His course Compiler Theory has been rewarded a National Resource Sharing Class and a National Essential Course.
He hosted and participated in more than 40 research projects in recent years, including national 863 plans, national science fund projects, priority development field projects of the Ministry of Education, a joint project of the national science fund committee and the national research foundation of South Korea, Pre-research fund of the Headquarters of the General Staff, Doctor Station Funds of the ministry of education, key research projects supported by the Ministry of Education ,institutions of higher learning youth backbone teachers scheme. Project supported by the Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars, natural science foundation of Hunan province, medical information platform project in Hunan province, Hunan province leader scheme and many horizontal projects.
He has been long engaged in wireless sensor networks and distributed computing research, has established the good academic relationship at home and abroad. He has published papers in IEEE TVT, IET Communications, The Journal of Super computing, Journal of Software, Chinese Journal of Computers, Chinese Journal of Electronics, Journal on Communications, Journal of Computer Research and Development and international conferences such as IEEE and IFIP. He has published over 260 papers, has successfully applied for 7 national invention patents, edited and participated in 10 monograph teachings and tallies, won 1 first prize, 2 second prize, 5 third prize in the Ministry of Science and Technology Progress Prize.
