Personal InformationDr. Chengde Gao is a distinguished associate professor in the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Central South University. As a core member of laser additive manufacturing group in State Key Laboratory of High Performance Complex Manufacturing, Dr. Gao has been engaged in the research field of laser 3D printing for metals. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published 18 SCI papers in international journals, including 1 ESI hot paper and 2 ESI highly cited papers, a highest journal impact factor of 12.35, 6 papers in the journals ranking the top three, as well as 10 papers in JCR Q1 journals. His papers have been cited more than 1900 times with an H index = 23, according to Google Citation. He has also co-published 3 English academic monographs and applied for 18 national invention patents as the first applicant and 5 patents have been authorized. He has hosted 4 projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China and Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, etc., and participated in the Key Project of Natural Science Foundation of China and the project for the Yangtze River scholar Professor. Besides, he has been a reviewer for over 20 international journals including Mater Today (IF: 24.37, an international TOP journal), as well as the outstanding reviewer for JCR TOP 1 journal Appl Surf Sci and JCR Q1 journal J Mech Behav Biomed. He also serves as a senior member of China Mechanical Engineering Society, a committee member of Additive Manufacturing Technology Institution and an expert committee member of China Industry Technology Innovation Alliance of Nonferrous Metals. Moreover, he has received 5 ministerial- and provincial-level awards, including the first prize of Hunan Medical Science and Technology Award, the second prize of Hunan Natural Science Award and the second prize of Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, etc. As a teacher, he has been teaching 4 courses for undergraduates, including Professional English for Micro-electronics, Introduction to Innovation and Entrepreneurship, etc. The students he supervised have been the recipients of the National Scholarship for Graduate Students and the outstanding Graduate Students in CSU.
