Personal Information
Dr. Zhen He is a professor in the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Central South University (CSU), Changsha, Hunan, P.R. China. He received his BS degree in materials science and engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) in 2006, and his PhD degree in chemistry from Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly, University of Missouri, Rolla) in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Jay A. Switzer. He continued his research work as a postdoctoral associate with Prof. Jay A. Switzer in the Department of Chemistry and Materials Research Center at Missouri University of Science and Technology after he got his PhD degree. In Oct. 2012, He joined the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Central South University as an associate professor. He group is currently focused on designing, synthesizing, and understanding functional materials for applications in energy conversion and storage. Specific interests include electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), vanadium redox batteries (VRBs), and supercapacitors (SCs), catalytic materials for oxygen evolution reaction (OER), oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and CO2 reduction reaction (CRR), and proton conductive membranes (PCMs) for VRBs.
