Personal Information

Prof. Zhaohui Jiang is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Automation, Central South University. He is a Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program and a Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation of Hunan Province. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Automation Science and Technology and Deputy Director of the Engineering Research Center of Nonferrous Metallurgical Automation, Ministry of Education.

His research interests include visual inspection and intelligent perception, image processing and pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He also serves as Council Member of the China Society of Image and Graphics, Vice Chair of the Applied Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, Committee Member of the Technical Committee on Process Control of the Chinese Association of Automation, and Vice President of the Hunan Association of Automation.

Prof. Jiang has led more than 30 research projects, including the National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Project, National Science and Technology Major Projects, Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Projects, and various industry–university collaborative projects. He has published over 100 high-quality papers in IEEE journals, IFAC flagship journals, and CCF-A conferences, authored one academic monograph, and obtained 70 authorized national invention patents. He has received five provincial/ministry-level or national first-class society science and technology awards, including Special Prize and First Prize honors. He was also awarded the 9th Young Scientist Award of the Chinese Association of Automation and the 13th Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award.

In teaching, he has been responsible for one National First-Class Undergraduate Course. He received the Special Prize for Graduate Education Teaching Achievement of Hunan Province, the First Prize for Teaching Achievement from the Chinese Association of Automation, two Second Prizes for Higher Education Teaching Achievement of Hunan Province, and one Second Prize for Higher Education Teaching Achievement from the China Nonferrous Metals Society. He has also won three university-level First Prizes for Teaching Achievement and two First Prizes in Innovative Teaching Design Competitions. He led the development of one Provincial Graduate Model Course and one Provincial Excellent Professional Degree Teaching Case. The course “Digital Signal Processing,” which he teaches and coordinates, was recognized as a university-level model course for curriculum-based ideological and political education. He was also recognized as a model teacher in this area, and his teaching team was selected as a model teaching team.
