Profile

I received my PhD in Computer Application Technology from Hunan University in 2007. Now I am an associated professor in the Department of Data Science and Engineering, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Central South University.


In terms of teaching, recently I have mainly taken specialized courses such as multimedia principle and system design and object-oriented programming (C++) for undergraduates majoring in computer science, and basic courses such as database application technology for undergraduates. I have posted some instructional videos on the Bilibili popular video website as a supplement to my classroom teaching, including analog Electronics Technology, which I taught before, and some recent courses (click here for details). I will update the videos from time to time. As for my teaching philosophy.


In terms of scientific research, Currently, there are mainly two directions. The first is to conduct research on computer vision-based detection and recognition methods for micro-expressions (subtle, involuntary facial expressions that occur within 0.5 seconds and are difficult to detect). The second is to utilize large language models and multimodal language models for information extraction and visual question-answering tasks. In the medium to long term, the goal is to integrate language models with vision methods to explore model generalization and knowledge transfer from the real image domain to abstract and artistically exaggerated domains (for example, being able to automatically generalize from understanding real human faces to cartoon or comic-style faces). In recent years, we have also actively engaged in interdisciplinary research in the medical field, exploring ways to apply intelligent technologies to diagnosis and care.
