Xi-Feng Liang, Male, Prosessor & Doctoral supervisor of Central South University, Head of Key Laboratory of Traffic Safety on Track (Ministry of Education), Leader of Rail Transportaion Safety and Environment Discipline in Central South University, Chief Communication Expert of China Association for Science and Technology.
He is currently mainly engaged in the teaching and researching work of Train Aerodynamics, Operating Safety for Trains under Strong Environmental Wind Conditions and so on. He has lead the research team in establishing train-tunnel aerodynamic theory and application system, completing the three-dimensional wind protection system design for trains under strong cross wind, building the aerodynamic characteristic moving model experimental system for maglev trains at the speed of 600km/h which is original in the world. He is the principle investigator for over 60 projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Projects of the original Railway Ministry of China and School-Enterprise Cooperation Projects. In the last five years, he has published over 70 peer reviewed journal papers, including over 30 SCI indexed journal papers. He has been authorized 23 national invention patents. As the academic leader, he has been awarded one first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award (rank 2), one second prize of National Technology Invention Award (rank 2), two second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award (rank 3 and 4), one China Patent Gold Award (rank 2), and a number of provincial and ministerial awards.
He has trained 34 graduate students, and 12 graduate students are under his supervision (4master students and 8 doctoral students). He is currently in close cooperation with world-known universities like Chalmers University of Technology, University of Waterloo, Arizona State University, University of California San Diego, Georgia Institute of Technology and so on, in terms of visiting graduate students program.
