Teaching ExperienceSince joining the university faculty in 1995, Professor Su has undertaken the teaching of various undergraduate courses, including Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, Modeling and Control of Power Electronic Systems, Principles of Automatic Control, Factory Power Supply, freshman seminars, and introductory major courses. She led the university-level excellent demonstration classroom teaching reform project for "Principles of Automatic Control" and was awarded one First Prize of the Provincial Teaching Achievement Award in Higher Education.
Research & InnovationsProfessor Su has long been engaged in research in the fields of new energy generation, modeling, optimization, and control of modern power electronic systems.
She has successfully directed over 30 scientific research projects, including over 10 national-level projects such as the 863 Program projects, NSFC Integrated Projects (including sub-projects), NSFC Major Program projects, NSFC Key Program projects, NSFC Joint Fund Key Projects, and NSFC General Program projects.
Key Technological Achievements:
Matrix Converters: Breakthroughs have been achieved in key technologies such as modulation and control algorithms for medium/high-voltage matrix converter systems. The 380V/45kW low-voltage matrix converter passed authoritative appraisal, reaching an internationally advanced level. The 3kV/1.1MW medium/high-voltage matrix converter is currently in on-site application at Zhong Kuang Dachuandong Co., Ltd., breaking foreign monopolies and filling a gap in the domestic market.
Microgrid Control: The generalized self-synchronization mechanism of parallel-type power electronic networks has been revealed, unifying the self-synchronization control theory for parallel-type systems. Moreover, the self-synchronization mechanism of series-type power electronic networks under both islanded and grid-connected modes has been revealed, establishing the self-synchronization control theory for series-type systems. This pioneering work, achieving a breakthrough from “0” to “1”, has been awarded the First Prize of Natural Science of Hunan Province.
Motor Control Systems: Breakthroughs have been achieved in the decoupling control challenges of the variable frequency speed regulation system for brushless doubly-fed induction motors. This enables the control of high-power, high-voltage motors using low-voltage, small-capacity inverters. The technology was industrialized through the Wasion Group, yielding significant economic benefits.
Publications & Awards:She has published over 180 SCI-indexed papers, including more than 150 papers in international journals such as IEEE Transactions, and has been granted over 100 national invention patents. She has received many awards including the Second Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of Natural Science of Hunan Province, the First Prize of Science and Technology of China Nonferrous Metals Industry, the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker of Hunan Province, the Outstanding Postgraduate Supervisor Team Award of Hunan Province, and the Cao Jianyou Education Award.
