Personal Information
Dr. Zou earned his Ph.D. from Department of Anesthesiology of Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, where he currently serve as a deputy chief physician, an professor,doctoral supervisor and Postdoctoral mentor. Sponsored by the China Scholarship Council in 2013, Dr. Zou has gone to the Department of Neuroscience of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a visiting scholar for one year.
Dr. Zou was the winner of “Hunan Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars” and "Hunan Province outstanding doctoral dissertation”, and was selected as a member of the "Shenghua Yuying Plan" and the high-level "531" talent project of the Central South University. He was also selected as a candidate of Chinese Anesthesiology Outstanding Research Award in 2015. As the first Youth Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association anesthesiologists branch and the Youth Committee of Hunan Province Anesthesiology Professional Committee. Dr.Zou hosted 7 projects ofNational Natural Science Foundation of China and got the support from the “outstanding young scientific research personnel training plan" and the first Clinical Research Foundation of Xiangya Hospital.
Dr. Zou's research interests focus on molecular mechanism of chronic pain and morphine tolerance. He had a total of more than 70 research papers published in SCI cited journals such as Neuron, Scientific Reports, Oncotarget, Pain Physician, Hum Gene Ther, PLos One, J Gene Med, Brain Res and Paediatr Anaesth, in which he published 46 SCI cited papers as the first or corresponding author. In addition to his papers, he also published 10 international conference abstracts as the first author and edited one monograph. He was also authorized two national invention patents and one utility model patent.
As regard to the honors and rewards. Dr.Zou won the Hunan Procince Science and Technology Progress Prize and Medical Science and Technology Prize,and got the New Medical Technology Achievement Award of Xiangya Hospital and Central South University .He was also awarded many prizes for his excellent papers.
Dr. Zou serves as the teaching backbone of the National Excellent Course "Clinical Anesthesiology". He also serves as one of the reviewers of the Gene Therapy, PLos one, Drug Dependence and Addiction, Journal of Proteomics and Bioinformatics and other SCI journals.
