Professor Wu Hao holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee (2011) and has been a faculty member at the School of Civil Engineering, Central South University, since 2012, where he serves as a professor, doctoral supervisor, and master's supervisor. His primary research interests include functionalized and intelligent pavement materials and structures, green low‑carbon engineering materials, and the resourceful recycling of industrial and engineering wastes. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT), and a committee member of the Asphalt Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB).
He has published over 100 academic papers, with more than 80 indexed in SCI/EI, and has received several prestigious awards, including the Second and Third Prizes of the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Guangdong Highway Society, and the First Prize of the Shanghai Transportation Engineering Society. He holds 18 Chinese invention patents and 1 U.S. patent. In teaching, he offers courses such as Road Engineering, Road Maintenance and Management, Principles of Pavement Materials and Mechanics, and Science and Technology of Green Road Engineering Materials. He has also authored 3 Professional books and 4 textbooks.
