Xiaoling Xiao, 2025 Chia Health Scholar, holds a joint PhD from Central South University and Johns Hopkins University. She is currently an Associate Professor, Master's Supervisor, and Member of the Faculty Committee at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University. She was also selected into the first batch of the "Young Seedling Program" of the Hunan Nursing Association.

Her main research interests include health behavior promotion, nursing theory, and nursing education. In recent years, she has undertaken or participated in over 10 research projects, serving as Principal Investigator for 6 domestic and international projects, including the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Yale-China Association Jia Health Project, and the Young Scientists Fund of the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation. She has edited or co-edited 5 textbooks.

Dr. Xiao serves as a reviewer for several journals, including Journal of Advanced Nursing, Archives of Sexual Behavior, BMC Infectious Diseases, and Chinese Journal of AIDS & STD. She holds the positions of Vice Chairperson of the Professional Committee on Nursing Theory Research, Hunan Nursing Association, and Member and Secretary of the Professional Committee on Nursing Education, Hunan Medical Education and Technology Association.

She has been sponsored by the Yale-China Association and the China Scholarship Council for academic visits to Austria, the United States, and other countries. Dr. Xiao has published over 50 academic papers (including 37 SCI-indexed articles) and has been invited to deliver presentations at Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, and various international conferences.

Main research areas include health behavior promotion and psychological-behavioral decision-making, nursing education, encompassing disease management among people living with HIV/AIDS, HIV prevention among high-risk populations, nursing theory, and health literacy related to chronic diseases, among others.

Principal investigator or co-investigator on more than 10 projects, such as the General Program and Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the General Program and Young Scientists Fund of the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, projects of the Hunan Nursing Association, the Yale-China Association Jia Project, and teaching reform and innovation projects at Central South University.
