Personal Information

Fenglei Yu is proficiency with treating thoracic malignant tumors, and equips unique ingenuity and full of experience to manage this kind of diseases. He also innovates treatment of difficult and severe thoracic diseases. Patients who have malignant tumor invaded superior vena cava (SVC) and its branches are difficult for thoracic surgeons to resect and rebuild SVC system, but Dr. Yu finished the first case in Hunan province in 2006. Additionally, Dr. Yu builds a theory to evaluate difficulties about thoracic surgery. He considers operating space, separating interface, rebuilding methods and materials during the operation as the facts which can affect success of operation. Meanwhile, as one of the first thoracic surgeons who do minimal invasive thoracic surgery, Dr. Yu is full of experience about pulmonary lobectomy via completely video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (cVATS). He also pronounces his PUDDING procedure (a surgery procedure) to swipe lymph nodes to treat lung cancer patients who are at early stage. In order to prolong long term survival rate of lung cancer patients, Dr. Yu firstly advocates the standard of systematic lymph node dissection in the pulmonary lobectomy via cVATS. Besides, Dr. Yu makes achievements in capturing and identifying circulating lung cancer cell, testing DNA of circulating lung cancer in blood, relationship between mechanism of anemia and lung cancer process, immunotherapy for advanced lung cancer patients and etc.
