Xiahui Zhang, born in 1993 in Hunan, is an associate professor and graduate advisor in Prof. Junchao Zheng's research group. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Washington State University (WSU) in 2020, and then worked as postdoctoral research associate at WSU. In 2023, he joined the School of Metallurgy and Environment at Central South University. His research mainly focuses on energy storage materials and related atomistic modelings, especially rechargeble lithium batteries. In the last 5 years, he has filed 1 PCT international patent and 2 US patents. Moreover, he has published more than 20 SCI articles in high-impact chemistry journals (Angewandte Chemie, etc.), materials journals (Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, etc.); served as the youth editor or editorial board member of SCI journals such as eScience and Chinese Chemical Letters, as well as the reviewer for high-impact SCI journals such as Advanced Functional Materials and Nano Energy; undertaken several reseach projects such as Excellent Young Scientists Fund of Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China; advised students who have obtain Grand/First Prize in the 6th National Undergraduate Metallurgical Science and Technology Competition. Open positions in Prof. Junchao Zheng's group: Our main research fields include, 1) electrode materials for lithium/sodium ion batteries, 2) solid-state electrolytes, 3) lithium metal batteries, 4) metal air batteries, 5) aqueous zinc ion batteries, 6) non-ferrous resource recycling, 6) battery electrochemistry, 7) electrolytic hydrogen production, and 8) atomistic modelings (DFT, AIMD, DPMD, etc). We always look for passionate students and scholars with broad backgrounds ranging from materials science to metallurgical engineering, and welcome to join us!
