    Description of Research Group:At present, together with professor Yang junsheng, Dr. Wang shuying, Dr. Yang feng, Dr. Fu jinyang and other teachers of the department of tunnel, we have set up a research and development team for innovative technology of tunnel and underground engineering, with a long-term cooperation of 15 years. Graduate students can enjoy additional research grants in addition to the university grants according to the project funds and personal performance. The team regularly organizes internal scientific research exchange meetings, creating a good scientific research atmosphere.

Zhang xuemin (1973.9-), male, born in weifang, shandong province, Ph.D. Associate Professor, doctoral supervisor. deputy director of theDepartment of Tunnel and Underground Engineering,School of Civil Engineering,Central South University.
Mainly engaged in tunnel and underground engineering professional teaching and research work.
Areas of interest: tunnel safety construction and quality disease control technology under complex geological conditions, tunnel smooth shock absorption blasting technology; Safety and risk assessment of tunnel design and construction in sensitive environments such as adjacent existing lines, rock mechanics tests under complex and variable stress states, etc.
Won 5 provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards and was invited to be the project assessor of national natural science foundation of China. Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, International Journal of Concrete Structures and Structures Materials ", in highway tunnels, high-speed/overloaded railway tunnel and subway tunnels under complex geological conditions, such as mechanical behavior, weak wall rock tunnel construction technology, construction of tunnel engineering risk assessment and environmental impact assessment, operational tunnel defect disease diagnosis and treatment technology, complex urban environmental technology metro construction, smooth blasting and the blasting vibration reduction technology has carried out a large number of scientific research work, successively presided over by the national natural science fund item 2, chaired provincial longitudinal research topic 6 items, presided over more than 10 scientific research programs sponsored by the transverse.
