Dr. De Zhou is an associate professor as well as a doctoral and master's supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Central South University. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2003 and his Ph.D. in 2009, both from Central South University. From 2009 to 2010, he was a project reviewer at the Investment Bureau, Changsha Municipal Development and Reform Commission. In 2010, he joined Central South University as an associate professor. Since 2023, he has been the legal representative and general manager of Central South University-affiliated Hunan Railway Institute Civil Engineering Testing Co., Ltd. In the past ten years, he has presided over and participated in 8 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and presided over more than 80 horizontal technical services and scientific research projects. He won the “Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education” (2007), “Special Grand Prize for Guizhou Highway Society Science and Technology Progress” (2018), “ Second Prize of China Transportation Association Science and Technology Progress” (2021), and “Second Prize of Guizhou Province Science and Technology Progress ” (2022). He is the vice president of the Hunan Transportation Construction Engineering Testing and Inspection Association. His research topics mainly include calculation theory and application of long-span bridges and underground structures, as well as intelligent monitoring and detection technology for civil engineering.
