Personal Information

Dr. X.F. Li is currently a Professor in the School of Civil Engineering, Central South University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Hunan Normal University, Master’s degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Ph.D. degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology, and postdoctoral training at the National University of Defense Technology, China. He has served as a visiting scholar at Vanderbilt University (USA), University of Sydney (Australia), University of Alberta (Canada), Yonsei University (Korea). He received four grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He won twice the prize of province natural science. He was awarded twice as outstanding doctoral thesis supervisors in Hunan Province. He has over 200 research papers in refereed international journals and over 4 patents. He has been on the list of Most Highly Cited Chinese Researchers released by Elsevier for five years continuously from 2014-2018. He is a member of Editorial Board of several international journals. His specific areas of research interest include elasticity, fracture mechanics, micro/nano-mechanics, mechanics for multi-field coupling, smart materials and structures.
