Dr. Jaeyoung Jay Lee (Chinese: 李载宁) is a Professor of the School of Traffic & Transportation Engineering of Central South University, China. He is an international renowned expert in the field of traffic safety and transportation planning. He has conducted research studies in traffic safety, traffic planning, operation and management of transportation, Big Data, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Since his Ph.D. program under Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty at the University of Central Florida, traffic safety has been his main research direction. In the recent ten years, he has been involved in more than twenty research projects funded by the governments of the United States and South Korea, including three projects of the Florida Department of Transportation, three projects of the U.S. Department of Transportation and so forth. Professor Lee has written about 200 papers in related journals and international conferences including more than 150 papers that are indexed in SCI or EI. He has been invited to attend high-level international conferences held in more than ten countries and has made more than 150 presentations. The total number of citations is 6,535 with h-index: 48 and i-10-index: 116, according to Google Scholar (as of July 31, 2024).
