Restrictions of model operator with a constant characteristic function on invariant subspaces

Abstract:Inspired by recent study of invariant subspaces of a contraction with a constant characteristic function and associated operators \cite{Bhuia} \cite{Câmara} \cite{Cs} \cite{Timotin} , in this paper we give new and more explicit descriptions of invariant subspaces of the Sz.Nagy-Foais model operator with a nonzero scalar constant characteristic function. These simple representations of invariant subspaces enable us to further study the properties of the model operator restricted to its invariant subspaces.
