Jian Yang received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Central Florida, USA. From 2007 to 2010, he served as the senior electrical engineer at Delta Tau Data Systems, Inc. in Los Angeles, USA. He joined Central South University (China) in 2011. From 2011 to 2017, he was the associate professor of the department of electrical engineering. He has been a full professor since 2017.
Dr. Yang conducts interdisciplinary research in broad fields of power electronics, energy, networked systems & control. His research interests include power electronics applications, motion control, wind energy and solar power, self-organizing microgrids, distributed energy resources and distributed optimization.
In his areas of expertise, Dr. Yang has published more than 100 peer-reviewed technical papers and holds over 30 issued/pending patents. More than 40 article papers have been published in journals such as Applied Energy, Energy, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, etc. Five of them are ESI highly cited papers. He also serves as reviewers of IEEE TIE, IEEE TSG, IEEE TPE, IEEE II, IET PE, IE GTD, IJEPES, Energies, Energy, Applied Energy and so on.
