Abstract:A comprehensive study on the adsorption of ReO4− by coated impregnated resins containing Alamine 336 (336-CSIRs) from synthetic sulfuric acid solutions was conducted. The effects of sulfuric acidity, adsorption kinetics with varying initial concentrations of ReO4−, and the adsorption equilibrium with various temperatures were investigated. Low sulfuric acidity was more conducive to the adsorption of ReO4−. The adsorption process could be described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model with equilibrium reached within 6 h, and fit well with Langmuir equilibrium model with the saturation adsorption capacity of 120.04 mg g−1. Excellent selective adsorption of ReO4− onto 336-CSIRs was observed with the concentration of sulfuric acid from 0.5 to 4.0 mol L−1. 336-CSIRs showed excellent stability and 99.92% of rhenium was selectively adsorbed by 336-CSIRs from industrial waste water.
