Profile

Wenchao Zhang, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Wollongong, Australia, and Visiting Scholar at Case Western Reserve University, U.S.A. He is currently employed as a Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Central South University. He was awarded as National Overseas Young Talent Program, a Chief Young Scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST),  the youth program of the Hunan Province's "Hundred Talents Program". He has been engaged in research on metallurgical physical chemistry and metal resource utilization. He was under the supervision of Prof. Guo Zai Ping (Australian Laureate Fellowships,Academician of Australian Academy of Science, Academician of Australian Academy of Engineering) and Prof. Dai Liming (Australian Laureate Fellowships, Academician of Australian Academy of Science) during PhD study. He has published more than 70 papers in high quality journals, with over 15 papers published in Nature Index (NI) journals. As first author or corresponding authors, He has published over 30 peer-review papers including some high-level ranking journal such as Science Advances, Joule, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, Water Research, etc. His papers have been broadly cited by international scientific community and attracted > 6,500 citations with an H-index of 36 (Google Scholar). Among them, 10 papers were selected as ESI highly cited papers. He was presided Australian Synchrotron Radiation Research Program (ASRP) projects, and was awarded the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award.
