Personal Information

Zhou Chaoyang, Ph. D. of structural engineering, national first-class registered structural engineer, is formerly head of structural engineering department, currently a senior professor and doctoral tutor at the School of Civil Engineering, Central South University, P. R. China. He is mainly engaged in the analysis, design, testing, monitoring, evaluation, strengthening and transformation of various engineering structures including bridges and buildings, as well as the application of advanced technology and new materials in civil engineering. His academic interests focuses on the efficient use of fiber reinforced composites in engineering structures. He has hosted many research projects（completed or in progress） sponsored by various enterprises or governments such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Hunan Province, the Ministry of Railway, the Ministry of Education etc.. He has published about 150 papers at home and abroad, 6 books and several technical standards, achieved 6 authorized invention patents, and some governmental awards on scientific progress or technical invention.
