He received his Doctor of Philosophy (in Acoustics) from the The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.His main research interests are the fields of acoustics, noise and vibration in buildings and high speed railway/elevated subway system, as well as the aerodynamic effects of high-speed trains on sound barriers. Dr.Cai is also interested in the applications of CFD in buildings (includes studies of ventilation performance of green features in buildings and nature ventilation in buildings).
