Li Chuan-yao, PhD, Professor, Master's Supervisor, and Doctoral Supervisor, received his PhD from Beihang University and was a Visiting Scholar at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research mainly focuses on travel behavior analysis, transport geography analysis, pedestrian flow modeling and simulation, and driving behavior analysis.
He has published more than 40 SCI/SSCI-indexed papers in journals such as Transportation Research Part A/B/D, Journal of Transport Geography, Accident Analysis and Prevention, Cities, Sustainable Cities and Society, Physical Review E, and Economics of Transportation. He has led a number of research projects, including the Young Scientists Fund and General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Young Scientists Fund and General Program of the Hunan Natural Science Foundation, the Outstanding Young Project of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, key R&D sub-projects, and teaching reform projects. He has also undertaken the teaching of Chinese- and English-medium courses such as Intelligent Transportation Systems, Railway Communication and Signals, Traffic Statistics and Analysis, Introduction to High-Speed Railway, and Introduction to Railway.
He currently serves as an International Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Transport Geography (JCR Q1), a Young Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Railway Science and Engineering and Journal of Traffic Science and Engineering, a Regional Editor of CICTP, and a member of several technical committees of the World Transport Convention (WTC). He received the 2018 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of the Chinese Society of Management Science and Engineering (9 recipients nationwide). He also serves as a reviewer for a number of domestic and international journals, including Transportation Research Part B, Transportation Research Part E, Journal of Transport Geography, Accident Analysis and Prevention, and the Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering.
