Miao Huilin, male, born in 1996, is a Lecturer with a Doctorate in Engineering. He earned his Master's degree from Fukui University in Japan and his Doctorate from the world-renowned Institute of Welding Science at Osaka University, Japan—a global leader in welding research. He studied under Professor Hidetoshi Fujii, a globally recognized expert in solid-state welding and Director of Osaka University's Institute of Welding Science.
His primary research focuses on advanced solid-state joining of metals, linear friction welding, and friction stir welding. To date, he has published multiple papers as first author in internationally renowned journals such as the Journal of Manufacturing Processes. He has delivered academic presentations eight times at conferences hosted by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Japan Welding Society, and the Japan Iron and Steel Federation. He has led one Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Next Generation Challenger Research Project and participated in one Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) project. Selected research achievements have been featured in Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, a prominent Japanese industrial publication.

Description of Research Group:贺地求教授所领衔的中南大学搅拌摩擦焊科研团队，长期从事航空、航天、国防装备中的高强高导关键功能结构的搅拌摩擦焊新工艺及装备研究。团队拥有自主研发了大型龙门式搅拌摩擦焊平台和火箭燃料贮箱类构件焊缝脉动时效累积强化试验平台，长期从事与航天、航空与军工部门紧密合作。团队历年来主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、973项目、变革性专项、大型舰船用结构件搅拌摩擦焊接新技术与工艺平台研发项目各1项，研究成果曾获省部级科技进步奖多项。
