His research focuses on the formation mechanisms and risk prediction of regional soil pollution, as well as remediation technologies for heavy metal contamination in agricultural soils.
Dr. Peng's work investigates the spatial differentiation mechanisms, source-sink relationships, and accumulation processes of soil pollutants at various scales. He combines remote sensing technology, geostatistics, intelligent algorithms, and numerical models from the perspectives of pollution ecology and environmental geology to elucidate the driving forces, pollution processes, and coupled relationships between soil contamination and environmental risks. His research aims to develop predictive models for spatiotemporal variations in soil pollution risks and effective remediation technologies for heavy metal contamination in agricultural soils, ultimately providing a scientific foundation for risk management and control.
Dr. Peng has been awarded numerous grants, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund, General Program (2018, 2025), Major Program Sub-project (2025), Hunan Province "Outstanding Youth" Project (2025), National Key Research and Development Program Sub-project (2018), Ministry of Ecology and Environment Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Pilot Project (2020) and Arable Land Pollution Source Investigation Project.
He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed SCI publications, including more than 40 as first or corresponding author, with an H-index of 40. Dr. Peng also holds over 10 national invention patents and software copyrights.
