Yong PENG,professor and doctoral Supervisor. Professor Peng has been awarded the Hunan Provincial Outstanding Youth Science Fund, selected for several national high-level talent programs, including the National High-Level Youth Talent Program, the Ministry of Transport's “Outstanding Young Talent in the Transport Industry,” Hunan Province’s Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation, Hunan Province's Huxiang Youth Talent, and Hunan Province's Science and Technology Talent Support Program, among others. He has received seven national/provincial-level awards, including the First-Class National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First-Class or Special First-Class Provincial Awards, the Hunan Youth Science and Technology Award, the Mao Yisheng Railway Science and Technology Award, and the China Simulation Society Science and Technology Award.
He has led projects including national key research and development programs, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and more. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 70 SCI/SSCI journal papers in top journals in fields such as IEEE TCYB, IEEE TITS, AAP, and others. His work includes 8 papers highly cited in the top 1% of ESI, with over 5,600 citations on Google Scholar. For four consecutive years, he has been listed among the top 2% of global scientists. He is the first inventor on 34 granted patents and has authored one academic monograph and co-authored two textbooks. He has contributed to the formulation of industry and group standards for China’s railway sector and has been involved in four major technological innovations in the railway industry.
He serves in leadership roles including Secretary of the Energy and Transportation Division of the Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Committee, Secretary-General of the Hunan Railway Society, Executive Director of the "Key Technologies in Rail Transit Safety" International Cooperation Joint Laboratory, and Director of the National Popular Science Education Base for "Advanced Rail Transit." He is also the Deputy Director of the Human Factors Engineering Committee of the Chinese Human Factors Society, an expert in ISO/TC269/SC2 WG08 and ISO/TC269/SC2AG01 Working Groups, a member of the National Biometrics Subcommittee (SAC/TC28/SC37), a committee member of the National Scientific and Technical Terms Committee for Injury Control Nomenclature, Joint Chair of the New Rail Transit Technology Committee of the World Transportation Congress (WTC), and Chair of the International Conference on Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation in Rail Transit.
