Ronghua Shi is the second-level professor of Central South University, as well as a doctoral supervisor, head of the communication system and information security research team at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, chairman of the Hunan Internet of Things Association, chairman of the Hunan Education Network Association, deputy chairman of the Computer Professional Committee of the Hunan Higher Education Association, executive director of the Specialized Professional Committee of the Ministry of Railways, executive director of the Hunan Communication Association, senior member of the Chinese Cryptography Association, with special allowance from the State Council. His research orientation includes network and information security, quantum cryptography, quantum computing and so on. Based on network system and information system, a series of important theories and applications have been achieved in many aspects like security authentication, key distribution, cryptographic algorithm and quantum secure communication. He has presided over more than 10 projects including the National 863 Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Project, and the Ministry of Education Doctoral Fund Project, 2 provincial and ministerial appraisal projects, 1 provincial second prize of natural science, 2 provincial second prizes and 1 third prize of science and technology progress, 2 second prizes of the provincial excellent papers in natural science, and guided 1 excellent doctoral dissertation in Hunan Province as well as published more than 80 papers in essential academic journals both interiorly and overseas, more than 40 of which are retrieved and collected in SCI and EI.
