Luheng Wang received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Precision Instruments and Mechanology, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He is a full professor and doctoral supervisor with the School of Automation, Central South University, Changsha, China.
He is currently the Shenghua scholar distinguished professor, the Outstanding Young Scholar of National Science and Technology, and the leader of the CSU sensor lab. His research interests are to study the key mechanical/electrical properties and mechanisms of the novel flexible sensitive materials and to develop the multi-functional flexible sensor system. He has also proposed the idea “the pressure sensor spiralization” for the first time in the world to make a single sensor possess the ability to measure not only the pressure but also the non-contact gap, and has applied the idea “sensor spiralization” in other kinds of sensors (e.g. the temperature sensor, the humidity sensor, the gas sensor, the magnetic field sensor, the flaw detecting sensor, the material detection sensor, and the thickness sensor, etc.).
