Dr. Haoyang Yu received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from Tsinghua University and is currently a Lecturer and Master’s Supervisor at the School of Automation, Central South University.
His research interests include intelligent spectral data analysis, computational imaging and visual inspection, multisource information processing and fusion, and intelligent ultrafast optical technologies and applications.
As Principal Investigator, he has led several national and provincial research projects, including the General Program and Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Young Scientists Fund of the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and independent research projects of national key laboratories. As a core team member, he has also participated in national major science and technology projects, NSFC major scientific research instrument projects, and NSFC key projects.
Over the past five years, he has published 25 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author and has been granted or published 10 invention patents as the first inventor. He has received several honors and awards, including the Special Prize and First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Chinese Association of Automation, the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Metrology and Measurement Society, and the Outstanding Doctoral Graduate Award of Beijing.
Dr. Yu serves as a Young Editorial Board Member of Nanomanufacturing and Metrology, Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering, and Instrumentation. He is also a member of the Chinese Association of Automation, the China Society of Image and Graphics, the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and the China Instrument and Control Society. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for journals including Laser & Photonics Reviews, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (IEEE TIP), IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (IEEE TII), IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (IEEE TIM), Measurement, Optics Letters, Optics Express, and Optics & Laser Technology.
He teaches several core courses, including Signals and Systems Analysis, Advanced Detection Technology and Instrumentation, and Engineering Optics. He has undertaken projects such as the Ministry of Education Industry–University Collaborative Education Program and the Hunan Provincial Graduate Education Reform Project. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the Special Prize for Higher Education (Graduate Education) Teaching Achievement of Hunan Province, the First Prize for Graduate Teaching Achievement of Central South University, the First Prize for Undergraduate Teaching Achievement of Central South University, and the First Prize in the Hunan Provincial Teaching Innovation Competition in Automation.
Graduate positions (M.S.) are available in Automation, Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation, Artificial Intelligence, Optical Engineering, and related fields, with an annual enrollment of 2–3 students.
