Researches and AwardsHis research interests include mainly in Infrared & Microwave Remote Sensing, Geo-hazards PCP (Perception, Cognition and Prediction), 3D Geospatial Modeling and Digital Mine, and Subtropical Remote Sensing. He has devoted 28 years in infrared and microwave remote sensing and its application in geo-hazards, especially on rock fracturing and earthquake. He was the pioneer of Remote Sensing Rock Mechanics (RSRM), Digital Mine and Earth System Spatial Grid. Based on systematical experiments with infrared and microwave detection on rock specimens loaded to fracturing, and on multi-parameters analyzing to GEOSS big data, he discovered the basic laws of additional electromagnetic radiation at infrared and microwave bands from loaded rock to fracturing, tamped the physic foundation of RSRM, and successfully applied it for earthquake anomaly cognition with synergic Earth observations. He has published 10 works, 300 journal papers (Proceeding of IEEE, ISPRS JPRS, IEEE TGARS, JCP, NHESS, IJRMMS, IJRS, ESR, JGR, JG, Remote Sensing, Advances in Space Research, Annals of Geophysics, Annals of GIS, Transaction in GIS, Atmospheric Environment, Atmospheric Research, J Supercomputing, Science in China (D), Chinese Science Bulletin, etc.), and 200 proceeding papers (PIERS, IGARSS,ISPRS,SPIE, EGU and ISDE, etc.). His researches achieved many successful applications in industry domains and disaster emergency responses; he and his group were awarded with 2 national prizes and 10 ministerial/provincial prizes on science & technology progress in China. He has been a Chang Jiang Scholar Awarded Professor since 2004, and obtained the National Outstanding Youth Funds of China in 2005. Currently, he is the Academician of International Euro-asia Academy of Science, and the Fellow of Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Academy. |
