The researches are mainly focused on the slope stability analysis within the frame of limit equilibrium (LE) theory, the model construction and failure mechanism analysis of three-dimension (3D) sliding body, and the intelligent monitoring and reinforcement for the landslide. Related to the above-mentioned research topics, more than 40 academic papers (indexed by SCI and EI) have been published by Deng as the first author. Moreover, 3 invention patents were obtained by Deng as the first inventor. In addition, Deng won the Science and Technology Improvement Award of Hunan Province (the first prize), the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of Hunan Province, and so on. Currently, 2 scientific research projects (including the Nation Natural Science Foundation of China) are being performed by Deng.
