段吉安，中南大学机电工程学院院长，高性能复杂制造国家重点实验室主任，教育部长江学者特聘教授，教育部创新团队带头人。教育部第七届科技委学部委员，国家万人计划科技创新领军人才，国务院学位委员会机械学科评议组成员。中国机械工程学会微纳米技术分会委员。
长期从事光电子器件耦合焊接制造技术、超快激光制造技术等方面研究。承担国家重点研发计划项目“光电器件超精密焊接封装技术与装备”，以及国家973、863、国家自然科学基金重点项目等国家重大课题10余项。自主研发了阵列光电子器件、同轴型光电子器件、蝶形光电子器件、光纤器件的自动化耦合封装工艺与设备，填补国内空白，解决了多类型光电子器件的高性能自动化制造难题。研究成果广泛应用于光电子器件制造企业。获湖南省科技进步一等奖、技术发明二等奖、自然科学二等奖各1项。发表SCI/EI论文100余篇，国家发明专利授权50余项。
