Professor of Central South University, doctoral supervisor. Dean of Department of Physics, Vice dean of Hunan Key Laboratory of Super Microstructure and Ultrafast Process, State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy. Ph.D. of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, joint Ph.D. of University of California, Irvine. Professor Wang proposes to develop and apply density functional theory, molecular dynamics simulations and monte carlo approaches to address fundamental physical issues in the design of new functional materials. It is our goal to conduct creative research on both bulk, interface/surface and low-dimensional structures of fundamental importance, with an eye towards designing novel materials and exploring new physics for technological breakthrough.

 
Until now, professor Wang has published nearly 100 SCI papers with many papers being first or corresponding author, mainly includes: Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B, Applied Physics Letters, etc; invited to be editors for international SCI journals such as, Front. Phys., Materials., etc; invited to referees for more than 30 international SCI journals; ~50 invited talks in international symposium; reviewing experts for European Science Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc.

1. Master/Bachelor Studentship:
Master/Bachelor studentships in Computational Materials and Physics are available in the School of Physics and Electronics at the Central South University. Successful candidate will be working in simulating materials properties using first-principles methods based on density functional theory and molecular dynamics under the supervision of Dr. Hui Wang.

Required qualifications:
a. A Bachelor degree (for graduates) or studying (for undergraduates) in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Computer Science or a relevant field from a renowned and accredited university.
b. Familiar in Linux shell scripting and programming in Python, Fortran or a similar language.
c. Good communication skill in English.

2. Ph.D. Studentship:
Ph.D. studentships in Computational Materials and Physics are available in the School of Physics and Electronics at the Central South University.
