My mentor's advisor, Professor Lu Guangxiu, a pioneer in Chinese reproductive engineering, once said, "Reproduction is the foundation of genetics." It has been estimated that around 10-15% of couples of childbearing age experience infertility, with the male factor accounting for roughly 30%. Recent research has led to a surge in the progress of reproductive medicine. The Human Genome Project and advances in gene sequencing have made it possible to employ genetic technology to address key topics in reproductive medicine.
Our team is aiming to combine classic genetic techniques with cutting-edge techniques to investigate the genetic causes, mechanisms, and prognosis of male infertility, based on clinical cases. Additionally, we also focus on the etiology of rare diseases, as well as new technologies for pre-implantation genetic testing, to provide a basis for precise diagnosis and treatment of related illnesses.
