Dr. Jiang is currently a tenured professor as well as doctoral supervisor. He also serves as the dean of Department of Parasitology, Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University. Dr. Jiang received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Hunan Normal University in 2008. From 2012 to 2013, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Medical School, University of Maryland in the United States. He has led multiple research projects, including two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research team mainly focuses on molecular parasitology for Toxoplasma gondii, Plasmodium and Schistosoma, as well as the structure and function of spider peptides. He has published more than 30 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including Eur J Med Chem, Am J Physiol Cell Physiol, Inflammation Research, etc. He served as a guest editor of Frontiers in pharmacology and Animals. In addition, he lectures three courses, including Medical Parasitology, Human Parasitology, Pathogenic Organisms and Human Health.
