I conduct research in mathematical and theoretical physics, mainly focusing on the mathematical structures underlying quantum theory and their applications in quantum field theory, string theory, quantum phases of matter, quantum information, and quantum computation. My recent research centers on topological field theories and their lattice realizations (topological order), as well as generalized symmetries in both field-theoretic and lattice settings. Having started my research career in quantum information and computation theory, I also maintain active research in traditional topics of quantum information and computation. I have a broad interest in the interdisciplinary intersections of high-energy physics, quantum matter, and quantum information science, and I am particularly dedicated to applying quantum information approaches to the study of quantum field theory and condensed matter systems.
