Dr. Weimin Song is an associate professor in the School of Civil Engineering in Central South University, China. He got his Ph.D. degree in the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in August 2017. During Aug. 2017-Jul. 2018, he was a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. In the last 5 years, as the first author or the corresponding author, he has published 11 SCI journal papers, attended 10 international conferences and gave more than 10 conference presentations. The objective of his research is to advance the understanding of the failure mechanisms of pavement materials and the multiscale performance of granular materials. His research focuses on performance test and characterization of asphalt mixture and cement concrete, application of FEM-DEM coupling algorithms in geotechnical engineering, and ballast - sleeper interactions. He has been a key investigator working on several research projects (founded by NCHRP, TDOT， NSF etc.) in the area of infrastructure materials, pavement and railroad engineering.
