Xianhua Tang, a professor (PhD supervisor) born in March, 1963,is an expert who has been receiving special government allowance from the State Council and the second-level candidate of Hunan's new century 121 human resource project. He got the bachelor’s degree in Physics from Hengyang Normal College in July, 1984 and the master’s degree in Pure Mathematics from Nankai University in June, 1990. And in August, 1995, he was transferred to the Department of Mathematics and Software in what was then Central South University of Technology and taught there. He was admitted to the Department of Applied Mathematics, Hunan University in September, 1997 and majored in Applied Mathematics as an on-the-job doctoral student, who mainly studied Functional Differential Equations. He got the doctor’s degree in Applied Mathematics in June, 2000. And in 2002, his graduation thesis was elected an excellent PhD dissertation of Hunan Province. He got promoted to associate professor in October, 1998, was given accelerated promotion to professor in October, 2000, and recognized as a doctoral supervisor in 2002. Due to the invitation of Dr. Zou Xingfu, Prof. Tang visited Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada and completed the three-month collaborative research from March to June, 2001. He was also invited to International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy and worked as a researcher for one year from January, 2002 to January, 2003. His main interests are Nonlinear Analysis, Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations, Hamilton Systems and Discrete Dynamical Systems. Prof. Tang published over 300 papers in prestigious journals including SIAM J. Math. Anal., J. Differential Equations, Calc.Var.Partial Differential Equations, J. Dynam.Differential Equations, Nonlinearity、J. London Math.Soc., Discret. Cont. Dyn. Sys.-A, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., Proc. Royal Soc. Edinburgh (A), Science China Mathematics, and so on. Those papers were cited as many as 3200 times by SCI. He has been on the list of Most Highly Cited Chinese Researchers released by Elsevier for five years continuously from 2014-2018, and was on the list of Highly Cited Researchers released by Clarivate Analytics in 2018 for the first time. Prof. Tang has implemented 5 projects from National Natural Science Foundation, and 6 research projects of provincial and ministry level including the ministry of education outstanding young teachers funding scheme project. He won the first prize in natural science of hunan province (1st accomplisher), and won the first prize of Excellent Teaching Results of Hunan Province (3rd accomplisher) in 2013. He now acts as the editor of Advance in Nonlinear Analysis, Advance in Differential Equations.
