Luheng Wang received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Precision Instruments and Mechanology, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He is currently a full professor and doctoral supervisor with the School of Automation, Central South University, Changsha, China.
He is the Shenghua scholar distinguished professor, the Outstanding Young Scholar of National Science and Technology, and the leader of the CSU-Sensor-Lab.
He has been engaged in the teaching and research work in the sensor and detection area. He has been devoted to the research on “the theory and technology of the sensors”, and the main researching directions include: “Measurement system with multiple sensing functions”, “Flexible sensing materials and components”, and “Electronic skin and tactile sensation”. A series of original achievements on the measurement mechanisms and applications have been achieved.
Recent years, a series of national researching projects have been undertaken and a series of invention patents have been granted. He has also published a series of papers in the top journals in the fields of “Sensors and Measurements”, “Micro Electrical Mechanical System”, “Electron Device” and “Automation”, etc. (e.g. “IEEE-ASME Trans. Mecharonics”, “IEEE Trans. Electron Dev.”, “IEEE Electron Dev. Lett.”, “IEEE Trans. Instrum. Measur.”, “J. Microelectromech. S.”, “Chem. Eng. J.”, “Carbon”, “Compos. Sci. Technol.”, “Compos. Part-A”, “Measurement”, “Sens. Actuat. B-Chem.”, “Sens. Actuat. A-Phys.”, “IEEE Sens. J.”, “IEEE Sens. Lett.”, “Smart Mater. Struct.”, “J. Polym. Sci. Part-B: Polym. Phys.”, etc.).
The aforementioned achievements lay the theoretical and technological foundations for investigating the intrinsically flexible sensor system with multiple sensing functions, and accordingly, the multiple engineering technological challenges in the fields of sensor and measurement applications have been solved.
A brief introduction for the CSU-Sensor-Lab is given as follows. The failure failure is tolerated, the diligence is encouraged, and the atmosphere is loose and free. There are the groups of instrument and equipment which are the most advanced in the world. The excellent soft condition and the hardware condition have been offered to the researchers who devote themselves wholeheartedly into the scientific research works. The core academic ideology of the researching works of the CSU-Sensor-Lab possesses the international originality, and the theoretical meanings and the engineering values of the related achievements are in the international leading position. The CSU-Sensor-Lab does not impose the pressure of publication on the researchers, to ensure as much as possible that each researcher in the CSU-Sensor-Lab can engage his expensive time and energy into the scientific discovery itself.
A brief introduction for the enrollment for the doctoral students and the master students are given as follows. The related discipline specialties include “Detection Technology and Automation Equipment” and “Instrument Science and Technology”, etc. The students with other discipline specialties (e.g. materials, physics, the chemical industry and electromechanical, etc.) are also welcomed to apply. In addition, the undergraduates who want to become a doctoral student or the master student in the CSU-Sensor-Lab after graduation are also welcomed to enter into the CSU-Sensor-Lab to carry out graduation project work in advance.
A brief introduction for the recruit and employ of the post-doctors and the full-time faculties are given as follows. The researchers in the fields of sensor and measurement, microelectronics, mechanics, applied physics, material and chemistry, etc, who are willing to discover in the areas of “Measurement system with multiple sensing functions”, “Flexible sensing materials and components” and “Electronic skin and tactile sensation”, are welcomed to join into the CSU-Sensor-Lab. In addition, the research assistants are recruited for long term, and the main responsibilities are to assist the advisor to complete the daily management work of the lab and take part in the researching works if he/she wants to.
The applicant can submit the application materials through email (e.g. the CV and other materials which can prove the academic ability, level and achievements.). The contact emails are “wangluheng@csu.edu.cn” or “1354829299@qq.com”.
The requirement of the CSU-Sensor-Lab is that “the laboratory personnel should be able to devote wholeheartedly themselves to the scientific research works”.
Research interests:
1. “Measurement system with multiple sensing functions”
2. “Flexible sensing materials and components”
3. “Electronic skin and tactile sensation”
