Personal Information

Yimin Wu, born in 1980, a doctoral supervisor, is an associate professor of civil engineering department in Central South University. He studied in Changan University from 1997 to 2008 in Xi’an, and obtained the PhD degree of bridge and tunnel engineering successfully.

Recently, his work includes teaching, technology service and research. In detail, his main research fields are as followed,
1) Tunnel smart construction through drilling and blasting method;
2) Preventing tunnel diseases, especially solving tunnel water disease and frozen disease;
3) Tunnel design and construction under complicated situations.

In the past 10 years, Doctor Wu has directed over 10 national or provincial research projects, all of which have been completed smoothly and promoted to the development of tunnel engineering. The key projects are 1) Research on Maintenance Technology of High Speed Railway in Cold Region, supported by China Railway Corporation; 2) Anti-freezing Theory and Application for Tunnels in Cold Region Based on Multi-Frequency Short-period Freeze-thaw Cycle, supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grand No. 51478473); 3) Research on Intelligent Temperature Control Model and Its Application for Frost-proof via Tunnel-backing’s Double-source Heat Supply in Cold Region, supported by National Natural Science Foundation for Young Scholars of China (Grand No. 51008308).

Besides, as the main researcher, he participated many important projects, including 1) Study on Prevention and Control Frozen Damage of Highway Tunnel in Cold Region, supported by Transportation Ministry of Shan’xi Province; 2) Study on Leakage Control of a Military Cavern, and so on.

Furthermore, being a construction project head, he solved many practical engineering problems and completed construction projects, like Tongling Wusong tunnel. He also provided technical consulting service for engineering projects.

Since 2005, Doctor Wu has published more than 40 papers, applied 24 patents and written 3 textbooks. He was rewarded as Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Hunan Province in 2016 and 2010 respectively, rewarded as Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Shan’xi Province in 2016, honored two times as Second Prize of Science and Technology Award of Railway Union.
