Zhengliang Xiang, PhD in Engineering, is currently a lecturer and master's supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Central South University.
He has led one National Natural Science Foundation of China project, one sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program, one Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation project, and one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation project. He has also participated as a key researcher in major national scientific instrument development projects, National Key Research and Development Program projects, and major projects of China Railway Corporation. He also leads one research project on the reform of degree and postgraduate education at Central South University.
His research focuses on the interdisciplinary application of artificial intelligence in civil engineering disaster prevention and mitigation, including bridge structural reliability calculation methods, bridge wind resistance, and bridge structural health monitoring. He has published over 20 academic papers in authoritative domestic and international journals such as Reliability Engineering and System Safety, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, Engineering with Computers, and Structural Health Monitoring, and has been granted 5 national invention patents and 5 software copyrights.
He is a member of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, expert reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, expert in the National Postgraduate Education Evaluation and Monitoring Expert Database, editorial board member of Scientific Reports, young editorial board member of Advances in Wind Engineering, and reviewer for multiple SCI journals. Recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award from the China Railway Society, the First Prize of the Teaching Achievement Award for Higher Education (Undergraduate) from Central South University, the Excellence Award in the First Hunan Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the Hunan Provincial Excellent Master's Thesis Award, the Central South University Excellent Master's Thesis Award, the Central South University Outstanding Graduate Award, the Central South University Outstanding Postgraduate Award, and the Harbin Institute of Technology "OVM Scholarship."
