Development of Novel Methods for Compensation of Stress-strain Curves

Abstract:In this study, we analyze in detail the stress variation due to friction between the top surface of a cylindrical sample and the anvil surface by carrying out FEM analysis. We propose pragmatic and simple approaches to compensate the stress-strain curve for both Rastegaev-geometry samples and arbitrary cylindrical samples. By using these equations, the compensation process becomes easy and convenient, and the compensated flow stresses are reliable for the compression process of 5065B aluminum alloy.
