Dongqin Zhang, Ph.D., is a male scholar and currently a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor in the Department of Mechanics, School of Civil Engineering, Central South University. He is a recipient of a national-level young talent program. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Editorial Office of the international academic journal Advances in Wind Engineering, hosted by Central South University.

Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Tokyo, Japan, under the supervision of Prof. Takeshi Ishihara, an internationally renowned expert in wind energy. His long-term research focuses on intelligent fluid mechanics, with particular emphasis on wind energy structures and high-speed railway systems. His research interests include intelligent wind field forecasting, fluid–structure interaction analysis, and vibration control.

He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal papers in leading international journals such as Applied Energy, Energy, Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, and Ocean Engineering. He has led or participated in seven research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shenzhen Key Science and Technology Program, Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC), Hong Kong RTH–ITF Program, and the Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Foundation (Offshore Wind Energy). He was also awarded the 2021 Postdoctoral International Exchange Program.
