ZHONG Qifan, Ph.D., associate professor of Central South University, belongs to the light metal metallurgy academic team of Central South University. The academic leaders of the team are Academician Liu Yexiang, Professor Li Jie, and Professor Lai Yanqing. In November 2018, he graduated from Central South University, majoring in non-ferrous metallurgy with a doctorate. The supervisors are Professor Xiao Jin (CSU) and Professor Jonathan Mathews (PSU). During his Ph.D. period, under Professor Jonathan Mathews (ACS Fellow), an authority on coal char structure, and Professor Adri van Duin, the main inventor of ReaxFF molecular dynamics simulation, conducted 22-month research work as a joint Ph.D.at Pennsylvania State University. He has established long-term relationships with related research teams such as Pennsylvania State University, Queensland University, Monash University, etc. Since 2014, more than 30 scientific papers have been published, including more than 20 SCI papers as the first author/first corresponding author. Most of the results have been published in Carbon, Journal of Hazardous Materials, ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, Combustion and Flame, SCI searched TOP journals such as Fuel, Minerals Engineering, Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers, Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Energy & Fuels and Journal of Energy Storage, and obtained more than 20 national authorized invention patents. He now runs a general project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a youth project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a general project of the Natural Science Foundation of Hunan Province, and an enterprise technology R & D project.
