Personal Information
Dr. Zhou is now an associate professor and a master supervisor of Department of Fire Protection Engineering at School of Civil Engineering, Central South University. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2009. He also gained his PhD in Safety Science and Engineering from USTC (State Key Lab. of Fire Science) in 2014. He joined the current teaching and research team of CSU in December 2014.
In recent years, Dr. Zhou has hosted and participated in more than 10 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and National Key Research and Development Program, and published more than 20 SCI papers by first author and corresponding author. Dr. Zhou currently serves as the reviewer for several SCI journals and symposiums such as Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, International Symposium on Fire Safety Science (IAFSS Symposium), Journal of Hazardous Materials, Applied Thermal Engineering, Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, Journal of Cleaner Production, Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, Materials, Sustainable Cities and Society, Fire and Materials.
His major teaching courses are Smoke Control Engineering and Wildland Fire. His research interests mainly include mechanisms of pyrolysis and flame spread of solid combustibles, principle of water mist fire extinguishing technology, and fire dynamics of tunnels and underground spaces.
