Personal InformationBin Zou is a professor and assistant dean in the School of Geosciences and Info-Physics in Central South University, China. His research interests include GIS &RS based air pollution distribution monitoring and simulation, remote sensing detection of soil heavy metal concentration, environmental exposure risk assessment, as well as online big data platform development for environmental monitoring and exposure risk prevention. After professor Bin Zou got his doctoral degree in Cartography and Geographic Information Engineering in 2009. He successively finished his postdoctoral studies in US majoring in environment and health, as well as in environment engineering in China. Currently, professor Bin Zou is serving as several committee members of international academic organizations, such as CPGIS and ISPRS. In recent five years, Professor Bin Zou has charged of more than 20 projects including Chinese National Key Research and Development project as PI. With these grants, professor Bin Zou has published more than 120 journal papers including 50 in top SCI journals such as Remote Sensing of Environment, International Journal of Geographical Information Science, Environment International, etc. As a doctoral supervisor, Professor Bin Zou’s research group warmly welcomes international students interesting in China’s environmental problems for doctoral and post-doctoral study.
