  • Abstract:On the basic Assumption of the sliding plane Hypothesis of Mononobe-Okabe theory, the analytical solution of seismic active soil pressure on retaining walls was deduced for the case of uniform distribution and linear distribution of lateral earthquake load along the height of wall by using the thin layer element method, considering the circumstances that the backfill was soil with cohesion and friction angle, the back of retaining walls was inclined. The results of real example have shown that the suggested formulas in this paper can analyze the seismic earth pressures problem well
