Personal InformationDr. Hao Deng obtained his M.D. degree at Hunan Medical University, and received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, Changsha, Hunan, P.R. China. In 2006, he completed his postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine, USA. From 2006 to 2007, he worked as an Instructor at Baylor College of Medicine. In 2007, he returned to China and became a Researcher in Center for Experimental Medicine, the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, where he currently leads a research group investigating various genetic disorders, especially in neurology. He is currently the Deputy Director of Center for Experimental Medicine, Professor of Neurology and Doctoral Supervisor of Central South University. Dr. Deng’s area of specialization includes neurogenetics and molecular cytogenetics. As a PI, his research has been funded by many national and international grants and foundations. He is a member of Sigma Xi and the Scientific Research Society, American Academy of Neurology. He is also a lead guest editor for a special issue of BioMed Research International, an editorial board member of the American Journal of Neuroscience Research, International Journal of Medical Genetics, Video Journal of Neurology, Jacobs- Cell and Molecular Biology and a reviewer of more than 20 international journals, such as Lancet Neurology, Neurology, Biological Psychiatry. Dr. Deng published over 90 papers in international peer-reviewed journals with over 1200 citations.
