Longjun Dong received the Ph.D. from the School of Resources and Safety Engineering, Central South University, Changsha, China. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Researcher Assistant with the Australia Center for Geomechanics, The University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia. He is currently a Professor and Director of Department of Safety Science and Engineering in the School of Resources and Safety Engineering, Central South University. He holds a project supported by the National Science Foundation for Excellent Young Scholars of China in 2018. He has authored more than 100 papers published in refereed journals. He holds 30 patents. His current research interests include Acoustical Measurements, Applied Acoustics, Seismic Design of Rock Structures, Nondestructive Evaluation, Induced Seismology, and Geomechanics. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, and the member of ASCE and ISRM. He has served as a Reviewer of more than 30 journals. He was selected for the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program by the China Association for Science and Technology. He is invited to serve as the Associate editor of JASA Express Letters and Shock and Vibration; the Editorial Board Member of Safety Science, Scientific Reports, Engineering, Archive of Mining Sciences, Journal Safety in Extreme Environments, and Safety; and the chief editor of Arabian Journal of Geosciences.
